This recipe is a variation of a classic Italian dish.


1 pint oysters
1 medium onion
1 clove minced garlic
8 oz tomatoes
4 oz. tomato sauce
1/3 tsp. salt
dash pepper
oregano to taste
1/4 tsp dried or fresh basil
1/4 tsp. celery seed
1/4 cup cooking wine


  1. Slice onions and tomatoes. Chop garlic and basil.
  2. Add all the ingredients and simmer until vegetables are tender.
  3. Serve with garlic bread or festive crackers.
