This a traditional recipe for cooking mussels with wine, olive oil, and herbs.


30-50 fresh mussels
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
1 sliced lemon
1/4 cup olive oil
1 cup Pino Grigio wine


  1. In a large pot, add 1 cup wine and heat to boiling.
  2. Add mussels, herbs, lemons, and olive oil.
  3. Stir and steam until mussels open. Discard any that do not open.
  4. Serve as is or on a bed of pasta sprinkled with grated Parmesan cheese.
