This a traditional recipe for cooking mussels with wine, olive oil, and herbs.
30-50 fresh mussels
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
1 sliced lemon
1/4 cup olive oil
1 cup Pino Grigio wine
- In a large pot, add 1 cup wine and heat to boiling.
- Add mussels, herbs, lemons, and olive oil.
- Stir and steam until mussels open. Discard any that do not open.
- Serve as is or on a bed of pasta sprinkled with grated Parmesan cheese.
